As a follow-on to the last entry I should mention the experience I had a day or two later with my character Khaer. When I hit the quest completion bug it was on both Khaer and Aosa, as I was playing both together. I reported the error on Aosa, but after it was resolved (including the character coming unexpectedly alive) I also reported it on Khaer.
A GM whispered me while I was in Fens of Nathsar, so I (Khaer) ran to safety and had a short pleasant conversation, after which he advanced the quest so that I picked up the completion reward. Then, without warning, I got a loading screen and found myself a few feet from my earlier position, besides a big wooden cage.
I moved away, puzzled, and then the GM whispered “aaa, you didn’t get stuck :P” He’d been trying to teleport me inside the cage.
I really like that GMs keep their sense of humor. Customer service in any industry is a soul-destroying job. I’m sure EQ2 GMs have to deal with the greedy, arrogant whiners that infest the chat channels (“LOL, Sony sucks” “OMG, what a fail” etc). But they’re still able to take the time for chat and roleplay with the players.
I have to say that I also found this in WoW, although response times there could be measured in days instead of an hour or two.
