At this point, I think all of my friends who started with Star Wars: The Old Republic have pretty much given up. For what seem like similar reasons to my experience with Rift: that content largely gives out at max level, and that the game doesn’t have great replayability. I’ve heard complaints of WoW-clone and… Continue reading The Old Republic

The Next Big Thing?
No MMO ever quite lives up to its promise. But that doesn’t stop me believing the hype. I guess I’m always looking for something to replace those early days of EverQuest, with a whole new – and scary – world to explore. And to be fair, I had a few great nostalgia-generating moments in the… Continue reading The Next Big Thing?
Quick gripe time
One aspect of EQ2 tradeskilling that I have always loved is that tradeskills are completely disconnected from adventuring. You can be an adventurer without being a tradeskiller and completely vice-versa. Some tradeskill quests can be highly dangerous without being a high-level adventurer, but that’s part of the fun. World of Warcraft crafting requires adventuring levels… Continue reading Quick gripe time
The Big Red Button, and Domino has a blog
One of our guild members added an item to the guild hall a few weeks ago that has caused all kinds of fun. It’s a box with a big button on it, called an Overclocked Tinkered Control Button. When you mouse over the button, it says in all capitals WARNING! DO NOT PRESS BUTTON! So… Continue reading The Big Red Button, and Domino has a blog
A GM visit

When I hit the quest completion bug it was on both Khaer and Aosa, as I was playing both together. I reported the error on Aosa, but after it was resolved (including… Continue reading A GM visit
A scary experience.
A very scary thing happened to me a few days ago in-game. I have two EQ2 accounts. I play them together on one machine, alt-tabbing between them. Most of the time it’s just faster, and levels up two characters in less than the time I’d spend on one, but occasionally it allows me to continue… Continue reading A scary experience.
Games and stuff.
I’ve been wanting to create some help for EverQuest II tradeskills. There are excellent guides available at EQ2 Traders’ Corner, but tradeskills have changed radically since many of the introductory guides were written, and I still occasionally field requests for help from newbies. Maybe not the best excuse for creating a blog, but there are… Continue reading Games and stuff.
